Ng Kin Hwa Internship Update
This afternoon was our turn to report on Kin Hwa’s progress to his internship coordinator, Dr. Nor Hisham, from the Department of Radio Communications, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. Ng Kin Hwa, a mechatronic student, has been with us since early May. He has been helping us on some computer interfacing work.

We certainly hope to have more internship applications from UTM next year.
The Red Maze is here, virtually 24/7
Our posting entitled “The Red Maze Is Officially Opened” on May 23 has attracted a lot of spams. Perhaps the word ‘red’ is one of the selected words that spammers look for to send messages to promote their products and services on the web.

On another note, it took us a while to come out with a suitable name for the Nordin Group building. Encouraged by the fact that we think we have a good name in “The Red Maze”, we have decided to put up The Red Maze in the virtual world of the Internet. From today, The Red Maze is officially a website which we will use to showcase some of our creative works that epitomizes the red maze. For now, the front page is the only thing you get to see but we shall be updating the website in the very near future. Do visit The Red Maze from time to time.
Celine Wong Internship Update: Lecturer Visit
We had a visit by Celine Wong’s lecturer, Che Wan Jasimah, from the Department of Science and Technology Studies, University Malaya, this morning. She is currently in Melaka touring the southern states to visit several intern students which she has been tasked to look after.
We had a good discussion on several issues but mainly it revolved around the academic world and academic-industry relationship. Celine Wong had been task to assist us on some science communication issues and she had done very well so far.

DANAU Internship Program is one of several community programs which we are committed to. Sometimes there is not much an internship student can help a company in such a short duration. However, we are committed to providing a training ground for students to understand the real world in which they will be entering when they graduate. We are continuously improving our internship program.
Thank you for coming and we loook forward to another batch of University Malaya students next year.
Farewell to Intern Batch 7, 2008
This is a posting which I should have done way back in December 2008. However, it is better late than never. On behalf of DANAU, I like to dedicate this posting to Nor Hafizah, Nurhazwani, Wan Nurnadiah, Nur Nadilah, Suraya and Aiwana. They were interns no 16, 17, 18, 19, 20 and 21 respectively.

Suraya, Nurhazwani and Aiwana at Program Anak Angkat PSN
Suraya, better know as Su is a Penang girl. Being a database student, she was assigned to help us, especially Thony and Azmin, in designing the database for Ramadhan, Makan-Makan Malaysia and others. Thank you for doing a good job for us.
Nurhazwani, or simply Wani, was the first to apply at DANAU. Wani has help us to design Ramadhan, create and update content for the website. We appreciate your commitment and dedication. We will definitely be back with a better version of Ramadhan this year. We look forward to your participation.
Unlike Wani, Aiwana (Wana) was the last to be accepted. We were about to ascend Menara Taming Sari on our farewell outing for Batch 6 interns when she called me. I told her that we already had 5 students joining but she pleaded a few times. I asked her if she could really concentrate on programming and she said yes. So she was accepted and did what she was supposed to do to very well. Thank you Wana.

Wan Nurnadiah, Nor Hafizah and Nur Nadilah at Program Anak Angkat PSN
Wan Nurnadiah (Nadia) is currently doing her Masters degree in multimedia at UTeM. She has help us to develop many of the Flash-based content that we had to experiment and develop for customers. Thank you and we wish you well in your studies.
Nor Hafizah (Fiza) was the second to apply and I remembered her very well when she came to submit her resume. She had a very unusual email address, something like selipar_tercabut@yahoo.com. I later asked her why not get a more proper email ID especially when applying for a job. She said she just wanted to be different, unique in a certain way. Anyway, her friend who came with her rejected our internship offer for similar opportunity with KRU because KRU liked her email ID which is similar to what Fiza is using. Hemm… Fiza, I wonder why KRU did not accept you, or did you reject KRU for DANAU? Thanks for all your help with Flash, GUI design and graphic work.
Nur Nadilah, or Nad, worked directly with me most of the times (sometimes with Hajar). I guess Hajar and I had her head spinning quite a few times when she had to digest some physics and kinematics equations in her Flash work. Thank you for the good work that you have done.
Pictures of our farewell outing in December 2008 can be found here.
